Whenever we upgrade the website, it seems like we spend a week discovering and fixing glitches. Unfortunately, this time we discovered that the system was not providing us with the names and email addresses of people sending messages through our Contact Us page. Fortunately, it is fixed now.
Unfortunately, though, if you sent us a message using our Contact Us page between Wednesday afternoon of May 21st and Friday morning May 23rd (US Pacific time), we do not have a way to get our replies to you. Please use our contact us page again and indicate which message you sent. Here are the Subject lines of the messages this applies to:
- Sermons on MP3
- Login
- re: letter to E Knoll
We sincerely apologize for this problem. Yours for a better AudioVerse,
Curtis

If you've been following the situation with Ernie Knoll and his claim of having dreams from God, we would like to draw your attention to yet another refutal that has come our way. This one is from Linda Kirk, a former supporter and strong advocate of Ernie's dreams who has now reversed her position and has written an Open Letter urging Ernie to abandon his claims and renounce the errors that have led him to his current position.
We would like to especially thank Linda and to praise God that, first, she was able to see the deception and come out of it, and second, that she has written this letter so graciously and given us permission to post it. Though we may err, God surely leads those who earnestly seek him!
Here's the link to our refutal page, containing Linda's letter and the other documents we've posted: Dreams of Ernie Knoll (Scroll down to the bottom for the latest updates.)

You may have noticed the new login feature on our website. It's there for a very good reason: so you can leave comments about our recordings! Now there's a way to publicly discuss the messages we present, and to help clarify the points that were made. The Comment system is a Beta, so we are likely to expand and tweak this system in the future. And, if it just doesn't seem to work, we might even remove it. But for now, we invite you to sign up and join the experiment!
As for the login system in general, we expect to add other features that make use of this in the future. How about the ability to subscribe to various speakers and sponsors? When we add a new recording under one of them, you would then receive an email notification about it. We're sure there are other ideas too. If you think of one, please let us know.

Announcing.... another round of website upgrades! Aside from some much-needed improvements under the hood, we've given the header, left column, and homepage a facelift (how do you like it?) We've added Conference functionality, so now there's a special page to visit for each of the great events we bring you, such as GYC 2007 and the regional youth conferences. And we now have an Editor's Picks section on the homepage, so we can highlight important sets of recordings.

Several days ago, we released a new video series from Chicago Outpost Ministry entitled, Antichrist: The One You've Never Known. However, we neglected to announce it. We apologize for that. Special thanks goes to Daniel Mesa for is role in producing the videos, as well as preparing them for release on this website.
Enjoy!

We just fixed our statistics engine. Top Items data, as well as the Statistics pages, is now available again. The problem, like many computer programming problems, stemmed from a phenomena that is well defined by the following poem:
I don't like this machine I think that we should sell it. It never does just what I want, But only what I tell it.

Our annual evangelistic series, Restoration, began this week. This year's theme is "Ignite", and the speaker is Matt Parra. We're happy to say that we've already begun posting the recordings! The series goes from now through March 8th, so stay tuned. We're posting the recordings as soon as they're ready. Click here for Restoration 2008's page.

Several times in the last year, we noticed very large spikes in the number of downloads on this website. We have often traced this phenomena to a single IP address (which usually means a single computer or a small group of computers in close vicinity) that appeared to be downloading the same recording over and over and over again, thousands to ten-thousands of times in a single day. However, no two spikes appear to have been from the same IP address. We haven't been able to trace the source of the problem, whether it's from buggy download managers, individuals trying to interfere with our statistics, or other phenomena. There have also been smaller spikes that we never noticed but were of a similar nature. Whatever the source of the problem may be, we deem these events to be erroneous at best, and malicious at worst.
The good news is that we have finally implemented a solution. From now on, our website will only report the number of downloads per media file, per IP address, per day. Thus, the most that any faulty computer program or malicious visitor could skew our statistics is by downloading every single media file on our website once per day. While this could still visibly affect our statistics, we believe this will yield numbers that are much closer to the intended meaning of what we report (which is the number of different people downloading each media file.)
This change is retroactive back through December 7th, 2007, which is when we launched the last major revision of this website. We will also apply this strategy to the numbers prior to this date, if we can find a reasonable way to do so.
Happy downloading!

Were you wondering why our Top Items list wasn't changing much over the last week or two? So were we. And today, we finally decided that something must be wrong, so we put on our thinking caps and went bug hunting. The good news is that it's fixed now! We apologize for this problem and for inadvertently having provided misleading numbers.
